A star that holds its light

A star is one of those symbols that needs no introduction. Constant, visible in the dark, associated across cultures with guidance and remembrance. This keepsake urn takes that form and makes it tangible: a small, hand-finished piece in grade 316 stainless steel, made in the Netherlands to last wherever you choose to place it.

Grade 316 stainless steel: what that means in practice

Not all stainless steel is the same. Grade 316 contains a higher proportion of chromium, nickel and carbon than standard grade 304, which gives it significantly stronger resistance to corrosion over time. It will not rust, will not fade, and holds its finish in rain, frost and direct sunlight. The brushed, directional finish means the surface catches light at different angles, producing a quiet, shifting sheen rather than a flat reflection. No special maintenance is needed, and the urn is equally at home indoors or outside.

Handcrafted in the Netherlands

Each mini urn for ashes is made by hand in the Netherlands by specialist craftspeople using high-grade materials. That level of care takes time: the lead time is four to six weeks from order. In practice it is often sooner, but that timeframe is given honestly to avoid disappointment. If you need a current estimate before ordering, contact us and we will check the production schedule for you.

The meaning behind the shape

Stars have been used for centuries as symbols of guidance, constancy and remembrance. For a cremation urn intended to hold part of someone's ashes, that association becomes personal rather than abstract. It is a quiet way of marking who that person was to you, and it says something clearly to anyone who sees it.

Laser engraving is available

If you would like to personalise this urn, laser engraving can be added at the point of order. A computer-guided laser works directly into the stainless steel surface with a high degree of precision, and the result can be rendered in grey tones or in colour. You can submit a name, a date, a short phrase or an image file. The sharper the resolution of the file you provide, the cleaner the engraved result will be. The engraving option and file upload appear in the order menu when you select personalisation.

Filling, sealing and practical confidence

All the accessories needed to fill and seal the urn are included: an ash bag, a cable tie, a cleaning cloth and a double-sided sealing tape with high tensile strength that creates an airtight closure once pressed firmly into place. You can fill the urn with ashes loose or using the ash bag, and full step-by-step instructions are provided. If you would prefer not to fill it yourself, your crematorium or funeral director can do so. Should the urn ever need to be reopened, a technician can assist.

Durability, guarantee and returns

Grade 316 stainless steel is one of the most resilient materials used in memorial products. This urn carries a ten-year guarantee, and you have thirty days from delivery to decide whether it is right for you. If it is not, returning it is straightforward. Because this urn is built to the same standard as marine and medical-grade steel, there is nothing fragile to protect and no special storage conditions to observe. It is designed to be placed, and left.

If you have questions about engraving, lead times or filling, we are happy to talk through the options with you at your own pace.
