Choosing an urn is one of the quietest, most considered decisions you will make. This stainless steel urn offers something steady: a clean, precise form that works as well outdoors at a grave or memorial as it does on a shelf at home, and a material that asks very little of you over time.

Grade 316 stainless steel

Not all stainless steel is the same. This cremation urn is made from grade 316, which contains a higher proportion of molybdenum than the more common grade 304. That difference matters in practice: grade 316 resists corrosion, salt air and moisture significantly better, making it a sound choice for permanent outdoor placement. The brushed finish is directional, ground so that light catches the surface at different angles and produces a shifting, quiet sheen rather than a flat gloss. That is where the star quality of this urn lives, in the way it responds to light.

Made by hand in the Netherlands

Each urn is made individually by skilled craftspeople in the Netherlands using the best available materials. Because every piece is produced by hand, the lead time is four to six weeks from order. Filling and sealing

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn arrives with it. The process is straightforward, and there is no need to rush.

How it works

An ash bag and cable tie are supplied. Place the ash bag into the urn with the open end extending beyond the rim, pour the ashes in, seal the bag with the cable tie, and tuck it fully inside. If you prefer not to use the ash bag, a funnel is recommended to avoid spillage. Once the ashes are in place, clean the inner seating rim with the cloth provided to remove any dust, grease or moisture. Peel the protective film from the lid and press it evenly into the rim in a single movement until it sits flush. A correctly seated lid will not protrude above the body of the urn. The seal is fully airtight and built to withstand considerable tension. If you would rather not fill the urn yourself, your funeral director or crematorium can do this for you. Should the urn ever need to be reopened, the team's technicians are able to help.

Personalisation

If you would like to personalise this urn for ashes, laser engraving is available. A focused laser beam, guided by computer, works directly into the steel surface with exceptional precision. The engraved image can be rendered in grey tones or in colour, and the quality of the result depends on the resolution of the file you supply: the sharper the image, the finer the detail. When placing your order, you will be prompted to select your engraving option and upload your chosen image or text. If you have a specific concept in mind or would like to develop a bespoke design, that is also possible. A sketch, photograph or reference image is enough to start the conversation, which leads to a formal quotation for your approval.

Practical considerations

Durability, guarantee and returns

Grade 316 stainless steel will not rust, warp or fade. It is non-porous, so there is no risk of moisture reaching the ashes, and no structural reason to use the ash bag if you do not wish to. That said, if you think the ashes may need to be transferred at a later date, keeping them in the supplied bag makes that process considerably easier. The urn is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. It carries a ten-year guarantee, which reflects the confidence placed in the craftspeople who make each piece. If the urn is not right for you once it arrives, there is a thirty-day return window on all memorial items.
