Green as life, enduring as memory

Green is a colour most of us carry somewhere personal: a garden visited on summer evenings, a woodland walk, a season that keeps returning. If the person you are remembering had a connection to the natural world, or if green was simply their colour, this glassfibre cremation urn holds something of that within it.

How this urn is made

The production process behind the 'Sparkling' glassfibre funeral urn is careful and unhurried. A structural core is formed first from glassfibre, resin and plaster. Two to three thick lacquer coats are then applied in stages, each one mixed with plaster and rinsed with water before the next is added. Colour is worked in after that, followed by a varnish layer. A second varnish coat follows, then the surface is levelled and polished by hand. That final polish is what gives the urn its characteristic depth and lustre.

Light to handle, resilient in use

Glassfibre behaves quite differently from ceramic or stone. The urn is light enough to move or reposition without difficulty, and the material absorbs knocks rather than shattering. It is suitable for use with or without an ash bag.

What green says about the bond you shared

Green is not a neutral choice. It is the colour of growth, of nature, of things that return. An urn for ashes in this shade can carry real personal meaning if you connect it to something specific about the person you are remembering.

Making the symbolism your own

It is worth asking yourself what green meant to them. Was it an allotment they tended every weekend, a forest they loved to walk through, or a coat they never seemed to take off? That kind of specific memory is what makes the colour personal rather than decorative. If you place the urn alongside a plant, a photograph, or an object connected to that memory, the space begins to tell a story that is genuinely theirs. If you would like to add a name or a short inscription, personalisation is available via an engraving plate, which can carry a name, a date, or a few chosen words.

Practical guidance for indoor use

This urn is designed for indoor use. Glassfibre is a durable material, but sustained exposure to direct sunlight can affect the colour over time. Positioning the urn in a shaded, dry spot indoors will preserve both the finish and the depth of the green. To clean it, a soft dry cloth is all that is needed.

No fragility risk

Unlike ceramic urns, glassfibre does not crack or break under impact. The material flexes slightly when knocked, which means accidental contact is far less likely to cause damage. For an object that holds this kind of significance, that is a real and practical reassurance.

If you are uncertain which colour or finish feels right, we are happy to talk it through with you at whatever pace suits.
