Ashes can be placed loose directly into the urn or held in the supplied ash bag if you want to keep future options open. Because the grade 316 steel body and fully airtight seal are robust enough for loose ash, neither approach requires any compromise. If there is any chance you may wish to transfer the ashes in future, using the bag makes that straightforward.

The filling process is designed to be manageable at home. If you would prefer not to do it yourself, the crematorium or funeral director can fill the urn on your behalf. Should the urn ever need to be reopened for any reason, a technician can assist with that too.

Step-by-step filling guide

• Place the ash bag into the urn, leaving a section above the opening as a funnel, then pour the ashes in. If not using the bag, a separate funnel is recommended to avoid spillage.
• Seal the ash bag with the supplied cable tie and tuck it fully inside the urn.
• Clean the inner rim with the cloth provided, removing any dust, grease or moisture before closing.
• Remove the protective film from the lid and press it firmly into the rim in a single motion. A correctly seated lid sits flush with the body of the urn.

Personalisation

Laser engraving is available for this urn, applied directly to the steel surface using a computer-guided laser beam. You can choose a name, a date, a short phrase or a photograph. Images can be reproduced in greyscale or in colour. The higher the resolution of the file you supply, the sharper the result, so it is worth using the best quality image you have.
