The Wave is made from aluminium and combines two surface treatments that work together. The upper section carries a satin silver finish; the lower half is powder-coated black. Powder coating is an industrial process in which pigmented powder is applied electrostatically and then heat-cured into the surface, producing a layer that holds its colour under everyday indoor conditions. The transition from silver to black is a deliberate choice. It brings together stillness and contrast, two things that often exist side by side in grief.

What the urn holds

The Wave holds a small portion of ashes, making it a mini urn for ashes rather than a full-volume cremation urn. An ash bag is included, so that filling the urn is hygienic and straightforward. The top is designed to sit with standard tealight candles, which typically burn for four to five hours each.
