A place that reflects who they were
If you are looking for something that holds presence without demanding attention, the Memento keepsake urn may be exactly what you need. Spherical, satin-glazed, finished in a quiet bronze that catches the light gently. It is an object that radiates stillness and, at the same time, remembers.
Craftsmanship visible in the finished piece
Ceramic has a history spanning thousands of years. The Greek word keramos refers to a craft that predates even the Egyptian civilisations, and its value has not diminished since. The Memento is formed from a plaster mould, cast carefully and left to dry before the first firing begins. That initial firing takes place at 900°C. The satin glaze is then applied by hand, and the urn returns to the kiln at 1,050°C. It is that second firing that bonds the glaze fully to the ceramic body, producing a surface that is even, dense and built to last. Two firings, no shortcuts.
What the glaze contributes to the design
The satin bronze finish gives this mini urn for ashes a subdued lustre rather than a hard shine. The colour sits comfortably in a contemporary interior and does not impose itself on a room, yet it draws the eye of anyone who knows what they are looking for. The bond you shared with the person you have lost can find a quiet, daily place in your home through an object that sits with discretion and dignity.
Practical and lasting for indoor use
Ceramic is particularly well suited to indoor use. It is durable, long-lasting and requires very little maintenance. Because the glaze is fired at high temperature and fully fused with the ceramic body, the surface is hard, sealed and resistant to moisture from within. A dry cloth, or one that is very slightly damp, is all you need to keep it looking its best.
What you can rely on
The spherical form was a deliberate choice. There are no sharp edges, the base is stable, and the silhouette is closed and composed. Ceramic is sturdy, though not indestructible. Place this cremation urn on a stable surface away from busy thoroughfares in the home, and it will stand exactly as intended for years to come.
Small in size, not in meaning
The Memento is a keepsake urn, designed to hold a portion of the ashes. That makes it well suited as a personal memorial for one household, as a companion to another resting place, or as a quiet focal point in a corner of the room that belonged to them. A bookshelf, a windowsill, a bedside table. A place you choose, chosen because it fits who they were.
Making it your own
If you would like to build something more personal around the urn, consider placing it alongside a framed photograph, a meaningful stone, or a small object that speaks to their life. The quiet bronze tone works as a background for whatever you place beside it, and in that way the memorial becomes entirely your own. An engraving plate can also be added if you would like the urn to carry a name, a date or a short phrase.
If you would like help deciding on placement, engraving or any of the options available, we are happy to think it through with you at your own pace.
