A quiet place for someone you carry with you
If you are looking for a way to give a memory a permanent place at home, the Memento keepsake urn offers exactly that. Small in size, considered in form, it holds part of the ashes of someone you loved and sits comfortably within the spaces you live in every day.
How this urn is made
Ceramic is one of the oldest and most enduring materials in human history. The word itself comes from the Greek keramos, and the craft of shaping clay and firing it in a kiln has been practised for thousands of years, from ancient Egypt to the present day. That long history is not incidental. Ceramic earns its place in memorial work because it is genuinely durable, requires little maintenance, and holds its appearance over time.
The Memento is made using a process that demands patience at every stage. A detailed drawing is used to produce a plaster mould, which then shapes each piece consistently. The cast form is left to dry, smoothed by hand, and fired at 900°C. The satin glaze is then applied and the urn goes back into the kiln at 1,050°C. That second firing is what gives the cream finish its soft, even sheen. Specially selected ingredients are mixed to form a workable clay, and the result is a piece with its own quiet character.
What this urn looks like in your home
The cream colour and satin glaze sit well across a range of interior styles, from pale and minimal to classic and understated. This is an urn for ashes that belongs rather than stands out, one that feels at home on a shelf, a sideboard or a windowsill without asking for attention.
Practical care and indoor use
The Memento is designed for indoor use only. Ceramic is not frost-resistant: moisture absorbed into the material and then frozen can damage the surface. Kept in a dry indoor setting, this mini urn for ashes has no particular vulnerabilities to manage. The glaze protects the surface and makes cleaning straightforward with a dry or lightly damp cloth.
Choosing where to place it
Placement can turn an object into something personal. A bookcase filled with titles your person loved, a windowsill that catches the light at a particular time of day, a table where you used to sit together. The urn itself does not change, but the place you choose for it can carry real meaning. If you would like to personalise it further, an engraving plate can be added, giving space for a name, a date or a short phrase that belongs to the two of you.
If you would like to talk through the options or are not sure which choice is right for you, we are happy to help you at whatever pace suits.
