A bird that stays
The robin appears when you least expect it. Quietly, close by. For many people, that small presence feels like more than chance. This keepsake urn gives that feeling a permanent place in your home.
Hand-built in stages, fired twice
Each piece is built by hand from long coils of fine and medium-grog chamotte clay, sourced from Germany. That coil-building technique is what gives each figure its strength and its detail. After shaping, the clay dries for around two weeks until it is completely stable, then goes into the kiln for the first firing at 980 degrees, known as a bisque firing. After 24 hours of cooling, the piece is submerged in a glaze bath and fired a second time at 1220 degrees. The distinctive bronze colour is applied after that final firing. Ceramic made this way demands precision and patience, and you see that in every piece.
Every piece is different
Because each figure is hand-built rather than cast in a mould, no two are exactly alike. The slight variations in form and finish are not imperfections. They are the direct result of handcraft, and they are part of what makes this urn for ashes something genuinely individual.
What the robin means
In many traditions, the robin is understood as a connection between the living and those who have gone. Not as an abstract idea, but as something concrete: the bird that appears in the garden, or taps at the window. If that resonates with you, this cremation urn gives that experience somewhere to rest. The bond you shared with the person you have lost becomes something you can see and touch.
Intended for a chosen spot indoors
This keepsake urn is designed for indoor use. A windowsill, a mantelpiece, a quiet corner of a room. A place you choose deliberately, where the figure is present every day.
Practical and lasting
Ceramic fired at 1220 degrees and then lacquered is robust and well suited to normal indoor conditions. A few things are worth keeping in mind to preserve the finish over time.
Care and handling
Keep the figure away from prolonged contact with moisture, and avoid placing it in direct sunlight, which can affect the bronze lacquer over time. Dust with a dry cloth. Handle it with the same care you would give anything that matters. Because this piece is hand-built, it is unique by definition. If you are considering this figure as a lasting memorial, it is worth choosing now rather than later. You are not selecting from a production line, but from work that is made individually, each time, by hand.
If you would like to discuss the options or have any questions about this mini urn for ashes, we are happy to help you at your own pace.
