The quiet presence that stays
When you lose a cat, the absence is felt in very particular ways. The spot on the sofa. The sound at the door. If you are looking for something that holds a little of that presence, this handmade ceramic cat urn was made with exactly that in mind.
Made by hand, step by step
This pet cremation urn is shaped by a single artist, working through a five-stage ceramic process. The clay is kneaded and formed by hand, then dried slowly before a first firing at around 900°C. The anthracite glaze is applied by hand, and the piece is fired again at around 1,200°C. At that second firing, the glaze fuses completely with the surface. The result is a solid, even finish that is water-resistant and stable. Because the firing and glazing process is done by hand, no two pieces are identical. Slight variations in tone and texture are a natural part of the process. They are not flaws. They are what makes this piece particular, just as your cat was.
The heart in the design
The small heart worked into this urn is not decorative in the conventional sense. It refers to something more specific: the quiet, mutual loyalty that existed between you. The cat who knew when you were home. Who settled beside you without needing to be invited. That kind of bond deserves something that holds it. Many people place this urn on a consistent spot in the home, alongside a photograph or a small object connected to their cat. A corner like that can give shape to the loss.
Practical things worth knowing
Ceramic is a durable and stable material, and this urn for ashes is made to last. Used and placed correctly indoors, it will not degrade or discolour over time. There are a few things to bear in mind.
Indoor care and placement
The anthracite glaze resists humid air and will not discolour under normal indoor conditions. Clean the urn with a dry or very lightly dampened cloth only. Avoid placing it in direct, prolonged sunlight, as this can gradually fade the glaze. Ceramic is resilient but will break if dropped, so choose a stable surface on a quiet shelf or sideboard where it will not be knocked. This is an indoor urn and is not suitable for outdoor placement.
A choice that fits who your cat was to you
You are not simply choosing a container. You are choosing something that will stay in your home and carry meaning quietly over time. This handmade ceramic cat urn has the character and the craft to do that. If you would like to personalise it, an engraving plate can be added, with space for a name, a date, or a few words that feel right.
