A bloom that stays

Choosing how to honour someone you love deserves more than a standard product taken off a shelf. The Magnolia cremation urn is hand-painted by a single artist who works piece by piece, bringing every petal and line into being with close concentration. Nothing about it is produced in series.

Craftsmanship you can see in every piece

The urn is made in a specialist pottery studio where traditional craft and technical precision sit alongside each other. The artist paints with colour recipes developed specifically for use on ceramic, mixing each shade to behave exactly as required on the fired surface. Once the painting is complete, a fine layer of glass powder is sprayed over the decoration. In the kiln, at temperatures between 1,050 and 1,250 degrees Celsius, that powder melts into a fully transparent glaze that bonds with the surface, deepens the colours and protects the decoration for the long term. The refinement of that process is visible in the finished piece.

Practical details

The Magnolia urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag. The vase form also allows a small tealight or candle to be placed inside, if that fits the way you choose to remember.

The bond you shared, held in bloom

The magnolia flowers early in the year, before the leaves come. There is something in that quality, an openness that arrives before anything else, that feels right for remembrance. At home, on a shelf, a windowsill or in a corner that has come to belong to the person you have lost, this urn brings quiet colour to a memory that matters.

The decoration and form mean the urn reads more as a piece of ceramics than as a funeral urn. That makes it a considered choice for display in a living space, present on its own terms rather than set apart.

Custom hand-painting

If you would like a scene or motif that refers directly to your loved one's interests or to something that was particular to the bond you shared, custom hand-painting is available. A favourite bird, a familiar landscape, a pattern with personal meaning: the artist will speak with you directly to understand what you have in mind. Contact us through the contact form and the artist will get in touch personally to discuss your wishes.

Durability and practical care

Placement and handling

Ceramic is a robust material, but it does ask for a stable, settled position indoors. Avoid placing the urn near a heat source or on a surface prone to condensation, as repeated exposure to moisture or sharp temperature changes can affect the glaze over time. The glaze layer protects the painted decoration, but ceramic will not withstand a fall or a knock. Choose a place where the urn can stand safely and be seen properly. Used well, it will hold its colour and its detail for many years.

If you have questions about custom painting or would like to talk through the options, get in touch via the contact form. The artist is happy to think it through with you at your own pace.
