Each urn is cast from a specially formulated ceramic body, shaped using a plaster mould that gives every piece its form. After casting, the urn goes through a first firing at 900°C. Layers of enamel in varied shades are then applied by hand before a second firing at 1,050°C fixes the glaze, sets the colour and produces the durable, lustrous finish you can see and feel. That process demands time, precision and genuine craft, and it shows in the result.

Lighting a candle in remembrance is one of the oldest rituals of grief, found across cultures and centuries. It does not diminish loss. It says: I am thinking of you, right now. The opening at the top of the Flame of Memory is designed precisely as a candle holder, so that gesture becomes natural, something you can return to daily if you wish.
