A blue urn that holds both grief and love
The teardrop shape is not decorative for its own sake. It calls to mind something true about loss: the way you hold on and let go at the same time, and the way tears belong equally to sorrow and to deep love. If you are looking for a cremation urn that carries that kind of meaning, this one does.
How a glassfibre urn is made
Production starts with a cast framework built from glassfibre, resin and plaster. Over that, two or three thick coats of lacquer are applied, each mixed with plaster, and the urn is rinsed with water between every coat. Colour is added next, sealed beneath a layer of varnish. A final varnish coat follows, then the surface is smoothed and hand-polished. That process is what gives the finished piece its depth of colour and its resilience for everyday indoor use.
Glassfibre is also notably light for its size, which makes it straightforward to move or reposition without any risk of strain.
What blue means, and why it might be right
Blue carries a particular weight in a great many traditions: depth, stillness, something that reaches beyond the everyday. If the person you are remembering had a connection to water, to the natural world, or simply to a kind of quiet presence, this colour reflects something of who they were. That is worth thinking about when you choose.
Personalisation options
An engraving plate can be added to this urn, and can carry a name, a date, or a short phrase. It might be a nickname used between the two of you, a birth year alongside a death year, or a single line that said something important. Personalisation is available when you order, and we can talk through the wording if you would find that helpful.
Suitable with or without an ash bag
This urn for ashes can be used with or without an ash bag, so you can choose whichever arrangement feels right practically and emotionally.
Practical reassurance for an indoor memorial
Glassfibre is not fragile in the way that ceramic or glass can be. You do not need to handle it with particular care when placing or moving it, and that straightforwardness matters when other things are already asking for your attention. The polished varnish layer protects the surface against dust and minor knocks. Keep the urn away from direct sunlight to preserve the lacquer over time, and clean it with a dry or lightly damp cloth when needed.
No unwelcome surprises
This is a material chosen for durability as much as appearance. The colour holds, the surface stays intact, and the urn will sit quietly in its place for as long as you need it to. For indoor use, it asks very little of you.
If you would like to discuss engraving options or have any questions about personalising this cremation urn, we are happy to help you think it through at your own pace.
