As clear as glass, as individual as memory
Finding the right place for someone's ashes is rarely straightforward. This hand-blown crystal glass keepsake urn offers something quietly considered: an object made with genuine skill, one that holds its meaning without a word.
Hand-blown crystal glass, made one piece at a time
The Symphony is produced through a layered glassblowing process that demands both precision and patience. A bubble of molten glass is attached to a blowing pipe. Layers of coloured glass are then applied, followed by any surface decoration. Finally, the piece is submerged in molten glass, forming an outer layer of clear crystal that gives the urn its characteristic shimmer. A wooden mould ensures consistent shape and volume across each piece. The colour, however, is determined in the moment by the glassblower's hand, which means no two pieces are ever identical. Each one is genuinely its own object.
Kept at the heart of the glass
Inside the ornament, a chamber holds the ashes, enclosed within the layers of glass blown around it. The bond you shared finds a quiet, visible place here. Filling is done from the base of the piece, and the cap supplied with the urn should be sealed with adhesive for a secure, lasting closure.
White crystal glass: composed and enduring
The white version of the Symphony is restrained by design. There is no heavy ornamentation, no assertive colour. What you have instead is a clear, settled object that sits well on a windowsill, bookshelf or side table. The glass catches light differently at different times of day, which means the piece is never quite the same twice.
Practical considerations
Crystal glass rewards careful handling and a little thought about placement. Here is what is worth knowing before you decide where the Symphony will live.
Fragility and placement
Like any glass object, the Symphony will break if knocked or dropped. Choose a stable, fixed spot indoors where it is unlikely to be disturbed. Clean it with a dry cloth or, if needed, a soft cloth that is barely damp. This mini urn for ashes is designed for indoor use only and should not be placed in areas of high footfall or where it could be accidentally caught.
The hand-blown production process means each piece carries a slightly different colour gradation. What looks like variation is, in fact, the record of how it was made.
