Red as the glow of everything that stays

Some things are felt before they are explained. This hand-blown crystal glass keepsake urn holds a small portion of ashes within the glass itself, sealed inside a deep red form that catches light differently depending on where you place it. It is a piece made by hand, and it shows.

Hand-blown crystal glass: the making of each piece

The production process behind this keepsake urn cannot be automated. A bubble of molten glass is attached to a glassblowing pipe, then layers of coloured glass are applied and decorations added. The piece is then submerged in molten glass a final time, creating a clear crystal outer layer that gives the urn its characteristic gloss. Because each drop is shaped by hand using a glassblowing pipe and wooden mould, the form and volume remain consistent, but the colour gradation is never identical from one piece to the next. You are choosing a unique object, not a production-line item.

The choice of red

Red is not the obvious choice for a memorial object. That is precisely what makes it right for some people. It speaks to vitality, to presence, to someone who was never quietly in the background. If the person you are remembering had that kind of energy, this colour carries it honestly. The ashes rest within an air pocket inside the glass, held within the colour you have chosen for them.

Practical details worth knowing

Crystal glass is a refined material that asks for a considered placement. This urn for ashes is intended for indoor use only, kept on a windowsill, a shelf or inside a display cabinet where it can catch the light without risk. Positioned well, it changes character throughout the day as the light shifts around it.

Filling, sealing and placement

The urn is filled from the base. A cap is supplied, which can be secured permanently with adhesive once filled. Glass is fragile, and that is worth acknowledging plainly: choose a spot where the piece will not be knocked, away from busy areas of the home. On the right surface, in the right location, this is a lasting and resilient memorial piece.

Making it personal

This cremation urn does not carry engraving options, and it does not need them. What makes it personal is how you place it and what you choose to surround it with. A photograph, a stone, a flower that meant something between you. The urn does not need to say anything. It simply holds its place.

If you are not certain whether this is the right piece for you, we are happy to talk it through at whatever pace feels right.
