A lasting place for someone you will never forget

Choosing a memorial for an ashes grave is not simply a matter of picking a stone and adding a name. You are looking for something that holds up over time, that reflects who this person was, and that brings real dignity to the place. This cremation urn gravestone in black granite offers exactly that: a durable, individually engraved stone built to endure.

Black granite: a material that earns its place

Granite is one of the hardest natural stones available. Black granite absorbs almost no moisture, resists frost and UV discolouration, and holds its structure for decades without maintenance. The laser engraving is applied directly into the stone at high precision, so letters, images and symbols remain sharp and legible for as long as the stone stands. This is not a printed surface that fades over time. It is an engraving that becomes part of the stone itself.

Personal, down to the finest detail

The stone is not produced until you have reviewed and approved the design. That gives you the space to get the wording, layout and any imagery exactly as you intend it. A name with dates, a line that captures the bond you shared, a portrait or a symbol that says something true about who this person was: all of it is possible. An urn for ashes that also carries a well-chosen inscription can become a deeply meaningful focal point for everyone who visits.

Personalisation options available

Laser engraving can be applied to carry any of the following:

  • A name, dates, and a personal message or lines from a poem
  • A portrait, symbol or meaningful image engraved directly into the stone
  • Custom dimensions, available on request

Practical things worth knowing before you order

Placing a memorial at a cemetery is subject to rules that vary between sites and local authorities. It is worth clarifying these before you order, so that nothing comes as a surprise later.

Check with the cemetery first

Before ordering this funeral urn gravestone, speak to your cemetery manager or local authority to confirm what is and is not permitted at your chosen site. Some cemeteries specify permitted dimensions, materials and forms for memorials, and certain sites require that installation is carried out by a regional stonemason. Any concrete base slab and pile foundation beneath the stone will need to be installed by the cemetery itself. If you are planning to place the ashes grave in a private garden rather than a cemetery, a plastic urn vault is available separately and can be installed without specialist help. Custom dimensions can also be arranged on request.

Design approval before production

Once you have placed your order, a design proof will be sent to you for approval before anything goes into production. You will have the opportunity to check every detail, request changes, and confirm you are completely satisfied before the stone is made.

If you have questions about engraving, sizing or the ordering process, please do get in touch by phone or via the contact form and we will talk it through with you at your own pace.
