A place that endures
Choosing a memorial for someone you have lost is not straightforward. You want something that reflects who they were, suits the place where it will stand, and feels right to you. Granite offers something that very few materials can: permanence. It is one of the most densely crystallised stones on earth, formed under intense heat and pressure deep underground. That origin gives every granite cremation urn memorial a physical solidity and a visual depth that is simply there, year after year.
Available in several granite colours
Granite is quarried across the world, and that variety shows in the stone itself. Deep black with silver flecks, anthracite, broken white, warm beige: each block has its own grain, pattern and character. Choosing a colour is a personal decision. You might select a stone that reflects something about the person you are honouring, or one that sits well in the setting where the memorial will stand.
Craftsmanship you can see
Every granite urn memorial is made to order by specialist stonemasons. Granite is a hard material that resists wear and demands specific tools and real skill to work well. That expertise is visible in the finished piece: the precision of the edges, the clarity of any engraved lettering, the overall finish. Engraving is available to your exact specification, whether you have a name and dates in mind, a personal inscription, or an image that speaks to the bond you shared.
Personalisation: your words, your choice
The text and design are agreed with you before production begins.
Practical things worth knowing before you order
Granite withstands frost, rain and direct sun. It does not fade or degrade in ways that affect the structure of the stone. It has been the standard material for outdoor memorial use for centuries, and that reputation is well earned.
Before you order: check with your cemetery
It is worth speaking to your cemetery manager or local authority before placing an order for this funeral urn memorial. Many cemeteries specify permitted dimensions, materials and forms for grave monuments, and some require installation to be carried out by stonemasons approved for that site. The concrete base slab and any foundation piling beneath it are typically installed by the cemetery itself. If you are placing the memorial in a private garden, our plastic urn vault is an option worth considering: it is straightforward to install yourself. Non-standard dimensions can also be accommodated, so do ask if your situation requires something different.
Approval before production
Once you have placed your order, we will send you a proof of the memorial for your approval. This gives you the opportunity to review the design, check the inscription and confirm every detail before work begins. If you have any questions or would like to talk through the options, please call us or use the contact form and we will be happy to help at whatever pace suits you.
