An angel that stays with you

Sometimes what you are looking for is not just a vessel. It is something that makes the person visible, that holds their presence in a way you can see and touch. The 'Angel of Comfort' was made for exactly that.

Born from personal loss

The artist behind this cremation urn is a Dutch sculptor with a background in figurative bronze art. After the sudden death of his own son, his work shifted completely. His first angel figure was a private tribute, made to honour his son's memory. That piece became the foundation of a collection of angel urns, each one designed with the same intention: to give those left behind something that holds both grief and love at once. The quote he chose to accompany his work says it plainly.

'I wish that heaven had visiting hours.'

About the artist

His sculpture is defined by symbolic depth, emotional honesty and careful detail. The loss he experienced did not diminish his craft. It gave it a new purpose. Each urn in this collection carries that purpose, the wish to bring comfort and to keep a person's memory alive in a form that endures.

Craftsmanship you can see and feel

This urn for ashes is produced using high-quality PLA filament, a biodegradable material derived from natural sources, combined with 3D print technology and then finished entirely by hand in the Netherlands. The hand-finishing is not a decorative claim. It is what gives each piece its own surface character, and why the bronze, bluestone and sandstone finishes carry a weight and texture that feel genuine rather than printed. Modern production methods and traditional craft used together, each doing what the other cannot.

  • Hand-finished surface in bronze, bluestone or sandstone look
  • Produced from biodegradable PLA filament of natural origin
  • Each piece carries slight individual variation from the hand-finishing process
  • Handcrafted in the Netherlands

What this figure means for the bond you shared

An angel in a protective posture is not a generic image. For centuries it has represented the guarding of those we love. Choosing the 'Angel of Comfort' places that symbolism in a physical form, present in the room, on the shelf or surface where your loved one now has a place. The posture the figure holds, sheltering, still, attentive, reflects what you would have wished for them: safety and peace.

Practical details worth knowing

The urn holds the full volume of cremation ashes and is suitable for use with or without an ash bag. The pedestal gives the figure a composed, considered presence that sits well on a sideboard, mantelpiece or bookshelf without requiring a dedicated space. Three colour finishes are available: bronze, bluestone and sandstone. Each reads differently in different light and against different interiors, so it is worth considering the room where the urn will rest when making your choice.

Durability and indoor care

PLA filament is a robust material that holds its shape reliably under normal indoor conditions. Unlike ceramic or glass, it will not shatter if knocked, which matters when an urn lives in a room that is used every day. Because this funeral urn is designed for indoor use only, weather resistance is not a concern, but a few simple precautions will protect the hand-finished surface over time. Keep the urn away from direct sunlight and away from heat sources, both of which can affect the colour layer applied during finishing. When cleaning, use a dry cloth or one that is only slightly damp. Avoid abrasive cloths and cleaning solvents, as these will damage the surface finish.

Placement

Place the urn on a stable, level surface. The pedestal provides a solid base, but a flat, even surface ensures the figure sits correctly and the finish is not put under stress at the base edge.

Your choice, your remembrance

Take your time with the three colour options and think about the space where the urn will be.
