Patina finish: no two urns are identical

After shaping, a coloured patina layer is applied to the bronze by hand. Because the process responds differently to each individual piece, no two urns carry exactly the same finish. Two colours are available:

• Green patina: a living oxidation layer that evens and deepens in character over the years
• Brown patina: finished with a light wax coat that slows further oxidation and leaves a gentle sheen

Built to last, indoors and outside

Bronze does not deteriorate. The base material needs no maintenance, which makes this cremation urn suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement. The patina layer is a different matter, and it is worth knowing how to look after it.

Care by colour

For the green patina, regular cleaning with a soft cloth, water, and mild soap is all that is needed. Scrubbing is not advisable as the layer is delicate and responds better to gentle contact. For the brown patina, the wax coat protects the bronze for as long as it remains intact. Indoors, keeping the surface dust-free is sufficient. Outdoors, the wax layer should be refreshed at least every two years depending on weather conditions: apply beeswax with a cloth, allow it to absorb, then buff to finish. This keeps the urn looking its best in an exposed setting.

Filling and sealing the urn

All necessary accessories are supplied with the urn. The urn is sealed with a high-adhesion double-sided closure tape rated to withstand considerable pulling force. Filling can be done at home following the step-by-step instructions provided, or you can leave it entirely to the crematorium or funeral director. If the urn ever needs to be reopened, the manufacturer's technicians are able to assist.
