The steel is treated during production to accelerate the oxidation process, so the protective layer forms more quickly. In the first few weeks the colour sits at a bright orange-brown. Over time it deepens and becomes more even. Any patches or slight colour variation at the start are inherent to the material and will even out naturally. Cleaning is straightforward: water and mild soap is sufficient. If the surface is ever scratched or chipped, the oxide layer will repair itself, though the colour cycle will begin again from that point.
