How this urn is made

Specially selected ingredients are blended into a ceramic body. That mixture is cast into a plaster mould and built up layer by layer, then hollowed out so the wall reaches exactly the right thickness. Once the clay has dried sufficiently, the form is carefully released from the mould. Individual elements are then assembled by hand, and any seams are smoothed away until the surface is clean and closed. The piece is fired at above 1,000 degrees, at which point the clay becomes true ceramic. After firing, the urn is finished with enamel glazes in several colours, giving each piece its own distinct character. No two are identical.

The 'Bear' is designed for indoor use only. Ceramic is not suited to prolonged moisture or frost, so keep it away from windowsills where condensation gathers. Place it on a flat, stable surface. Always use a tea light that fits the opening properly, and never leave a burning candle unattended. The enamel glaze is colourfast and needs nothing more than a dry dusting to keep it looking its best.
