How this urn is made

Production begins with a plaster mould filled with liquid clay slip. Once the layer has built to the right thickness, the mould is drained and the shaped clay is carefully released. Seams are smoothed before drying so the surface sits even and fine to the touch. The piece then fires at above 1,000 degrees, the point at which clay becomes true ceramic. A coat of enamel gives the urn its cream finish, consistent and quietly matt across the whole surface. Every urn completes this process in full, step by step. You can see it and feel it in the result.

Cream as a considered colour

Cream is not simply neutral. It is soft and unassuming, the kind of colour that finds a natural place in a living room without drawing attention to itself. On a mantelpiece, a windowsill or a quiet corner of a room, this cremation urn sits as a present and settled thing, the way a memory of someone can become part of daily life rather than a source of pain.

Practical considerations

Ceramic is a proven material for a funeral urn. It is strong, odourless and stable in normal indoor conditions. This urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag. As with all fired ceramics, it is not resistant to dropping or sharp impact, so keep it on a stable, flat surface indoors. Avoid prolonged contact with moisture, such as a persistently damp windowsill.
