Light held still

Some people want a place for ashes that also holds a presence. This ceramic funeral urn does that quietly and with real intention. The built-in candle holder means that lighting a candle becomes a deliberate act, a moment of connection with the bond you shared. That is what the name 'To the light' points to: not a metaphor, but something you can do.

Hand-modelled by an artist with over 40 years of experience

The ceramicist behind this urn has worked with clay for more than four decades. Each piece is hand-modelled from high-quality clay, and during the firing process a liquid bronze layer is bonded to the surface. It becomes part of the ceramic itself, not a coating applied afterwards. From modelling to firing, the process takes around four weeks. That is the nature of work made this carefully.

  • Hand-modelled from high-quality clay by a single artist
  • Bronze finish bonded to the surface during firing, not applied as an afterthought
  • Integrated candle holder for a considered, personal moment of remembrance
  • No two urns are identical: the handmade process means each piece is its own

An object that lives in a room

Because the forms are contemporary and the symbolism is worked in with a degree of subtlety, this urn for ashes is not immediately read as one. It sits in a room the way a considered piece of ceramics does. Guests are not made uncomfortable, and you have exactly what you were looking for: a visible, dignified place for someone you have lost. The candle holder makes the name literal. Each time you light a candle above it, the moment of remembrance has shape and intention.

Practical considerations

Ceramic is a stable, durable material and this urn is designed for indoor use. Kept in the right conditions, it will last for many years without any particular maintenance.

Care and placement

Keep the urn away from direct heat sources and steam. Clean the surface with a dry cloth or one that is only very slightly damp. The bronze finish is fired into the ceramic during production, which means it stands up well to normal indoor conditions. It does not need sealing or special treatment. This cremation urn is designed for indoor use only and should not be placed outside or in a damp environment such as a conservatory or bathroom.

Personalisation options

If you would like to personalise the urn, text engraving is available. That might be a name and dates, a year, or a single word or short phrase that reflects who the person was. Because each piece is hand-modelled individually, there is room to discuss what would be meaningful to you. If you are not sure what you would like, get in touch and we can talk it through at your own pace.
