Green as life, green as memory
Some colours carry meaning before a single word is spoken. Green speaks of nature, of growth, of things that endure. If you are looking for a quiet, physical place to keep a small amount of ashes, this ceramic keepsake urn offers something that few objects can: a calm focal point in your home, considered in both size and purpose.
How this urn is made
Every keepsake urn in this range begins with a design drawing, which is translated into a plaster mould. Liquid ceramic is poured into that mould and left to set. Once dry, the surface is smoothed and the piece goes into the kiln for a first firing at 900°C. Glaze is then applied by hand before a second firing at 1,050°C. That two-stage process is what gives the surface its hardness, its sealed quality, and the depth of colour you see in this green version. Because each piece is finished by hand, no two urns are identical.
A place for the bond you shared
A symbolic amount of ashes, held in something made with real care: that is what this urn for ashes offers. Not as a substitute for grief, but as a point of recognition. Something to place beside a photograph, or next to a candle you light when you want a quiet moment with them. A tealight is included with this urn, making exactly that possible. A moment of stillness, created by you, on your own terms.
Practical care for a ceramic piece
Ceramic fired at 1,050°C is hard and long-lasting, but it is best kept indoors in a stable environment. Avoid damp rooms such as a bathroom, and keep the urn away from direct heat sources and the risk of knocks. On a steady, sheltered surface, the glaze will remain intact and the urn will hold its appearance for years.
What the colour says about this person
Green carries an association with everything that grows and does not diminish. If the person you are remembering loved being outdoors, had a garden they tended, or simply felt most at ease in nature, this colour says something that words sometimes cannot. Consider giving the urn a place beside a plant or flower that reminds you of them. That small gesture makes the object personal, without anything needing to be changed or added.
Personalisation
If you would like to personalise this cremation urn, an engraving plate can be added, carrying a name, a date, or a short phrase that meant something to you both. It is worth considering when you order, so that everything arrives together.
Take your time with this. There is no rush, and if you would like help thinking through personalisation or placement, we are happy to talk it through with you at whatever pace suits you.
