A cross that holds what words cannot

Some objects carry meaning before you can explain why. This ceramic funeral urn is shaped around one of the most recognised symbols in the world, and if faith, or simply who your loved one was, draws you towards it, that recognition is reason enough.

How the urn is made

Production begins with a plaster mould. Liquid clay is poured in, left to build up a wall of the right thickness, then the excess is drained. Once dry enough to hold its shape, the mould is released, the sections are joined, and any seams are carefully smoothed by hand. The piece then goes into a kiln at over 1,000 degrees. That firing is what transforms clay into true ceramic: dense, stable and lasting. A coating of enamel glaze is applied in the chosen colour, giving the surface both its depth and its durability. Ceramic production demands patience and material knowledge, and you see that in the finish of every piece.

The cross as a personal marker

The cross has carried meaning for centuries, not as decoration, but as an expression of belief in something beyond this life. If the bond you shared with the person you have lost was shaped by that faith, or if the cross simply belonged to who they were, this urn gives that a place. It sits with conviction and with quiet dignity.

Adding a personal inscription

If you would like to personalise this cremation urn, an engraving plate can be added. It can carry a name, a date, or a phrase that fits the person it commemorates. That small addition makes the urn unmistakably theirs.

Designed for an indoor setting

This urn for ashes is made for a considered place inside your home: a windowsill, a shelf, or wherever feels right. The enamel glaze protects the ceramic surface and gives it a lasting finish.

Practical points worth knowing

Ceramic is a fired material and holds up well over time, but it will break if dropped from a height. Choose a stable, secure spot away from areas where it could be knocked. Keep it away from prolonged damp or moisture, which can affect the base over time. The urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag, and is available in several enamel colours, so you can choose the one that feels closest to the memory you are keeping.

If you would like help choosing a colour or thinking through the engraving wording, we are happy to talk it through with you at whatever pace suits.
