Sometimes you need something you can return to every day. Something you can touch, place a candle beside, and simply be with for a moment. The Flame of Memory in vintage black ceramic is exactly that: a cremation urn and candle holder in one, designed to be used.

Craftsmanship you can see in every detail

Each urn is made by hand, step by step. Specially selected raw materials are blended into a ceramic body, then cast in moulds built from a carefully prepared plaster model. Once dry, the surface is smoothed before the first firing at 900°C. The urn is then coated with layers of enamel in varying shades and fired again at 1,050°C. That second firing is what sets the colour, the depth and the durability. The result is a matt-lustrous black surface that looks considered and refined.

What the candlelight does

Lighting a candle is one of the oldest ways to mark a memory. Not as a gesture to anyone else, but as a moment that belongs to you. You light the candle, the light moves across the ceramic, and for a little while there is just that: the memory of the bond you shared. The Flame of Memory gives that ritual a fixed place in your day.

Suitable with or without an ash bag

This urn for ashes can be used with or without an ash bag, so you can choose whichever feels right when placing the ashes.

Practical considerations for ceramic

Ceramic is a durable material, but placement matters. Keep this urn indoors, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Both can affect the enamel glaze over time. Small variations in shade or surface finish are not flaws: they are part of what makes each handmade piece individual. To clean, use a soft, dry cloth on the surface.
