A flame that keeps burning, for as long as you need it to
Some people leave a silence behind them that is almost physical. If you are looking for something that gives that silence meaning rather than simply filling it, the Flame of Memory candle holder urn was made for exactly that.
How this cremation urn is made
Every Flame of Memory begins with carefully selected raw materials, blended into a ceramic body. A plaster mould is cast from a model drawing, and the liquid ceramic is poured into that mould to form the urn's shape. Once dry, the surface is smoothed by hand before a first firing at 900°C. Layers of enamel are then applied in graduated colour tones, and the piece goes back into the kiln at 1,050°C. That second firing is what sets the colour, seals the gloss and determines the long-term durability of each piece. Ceramic production at this level demands patience and precision, and both are visible in the finished urn.
Sahara yellow: a colour chosen deliberately
Yellow carries associations of light, energy and presence. If the person you are remembering had that kind of vitality, this colour reflects it honestly. The glazed surface amplifies the effect: when a candle is lit inside the holder, the glossy finish catches and returns the light, giving the urn a quality that feels alive rather than static. The bond you shared deserves something that holds that energy rather than muting it.
A ritual that belongs to you
Lighting a candle to mark someone's memory is one of the oldest acts of remembrance there is. What makes the Flame of Memory different is that it asks nothing of you. You decide when to light the candle, how long it burns and what the moment means. The urn fits around your rhythm, not the other way around. It is also compatible with use both with and without an ash bag, which removes one practical decision at a moment when you have enough to think about.
Care and practical considerations
The double-fired glaze makes the surface straightforward to maintain. A soft, dry cloth is all it needs. Keep the urn indoors, away from direct sunlight and damp, and the colour and gloss will remain stable over time. Small variations in shade or surface texture are not flaws. They are the natural result of handmade production, which means every urn for ashes is genuinely individual in a way that factory-finished pieces are not.
Making it your own
Small additions to the space around the urn can make it feel like a shared place rather than just a memorial object. A candle you have chosen deliberately, a card with a few words, or a photograph placed nearby can turn a single piece into something that belongs to both of you. If you would like guidance on personalisation options available for this urn, we are happy to talk through what might suit.
If you have questions about this cremation urn or are choosing between colours or variants, please do get in touch. You do not have to make that decision on your own.
