An object that belongs in your home, not one that defines your grief
Sometimes you want something that reflects the person, not the loss. The ceramic funeral urn 'Angel' is hand-modelled by a single artist and finished in bronze, and it sits in a room the way a considered object does: present, particular, part of the space.
Forty years of craft in every piece
The artist behind this urn has worked with ceramic clay for more than forty years. Each piece is modelled entirely by hand from high-quality clay. During firing, a layer of liquid bronze is bonded permanently to the surface, becoming part of the material rather than a coating applied afterwards. The result has the rich, muted depth that bronze is known for, and because every urn is hand-formed, no two pieces are identical.
A candle holder built into the urn itself
The integrated candle holder is not decorative. Lighting a candle for someone you miss is one of the most straightforward, human things you can do. Having that possibility built into the urn itself means both acts, remembrance and presence, come together in one place. You choose when, and how often.
Symbolism that earns its place
The angel figure carries meaning across many traditions, most often protection and closeness. If you have lost someone who made you feel safe, or someone you wanted to keep safe, that image holds something specific and personal. It is not a generic motif. It is a way of saying where that person stands in relation to you.
Making it yours
If you would like to personalise this urn for ashes, an engraving plate can be added. It can carry a name, a date or a short phrase, whatever best captures the connection between you. We are happy to talk through what wording might feel right.
Caring for a ceramic urn
Ceramic is a durable material, but it does not tolerate knocks or falls. Choose a stable, fixed position away from busy areas of the room. The bronze finish is bonded during firing and requires no aftercare or retreatment. To remove dust, a dry or very slightly damp cloth is all that is needed. Cleaning products and abrasive materials should be avoided entirely. This urn is suitable for indoor use only.
From clay to finished urn: around four weeks
The production process, from first modelling to leaving the kiln, takes approximately four weeks. That time shows in the finished piece: in the proportions, the surface texture, the way light moves across the bronze. This is a cremation urn made with the kind of patience that cannot be shortened without consequence, and you can see that in the result.
If you would like to discuss personalisation or talk through which options suit your situation, we are happy to think it through with you at whatever pace feels right.
