The Wave is a stainless steel cremation urn with a precise, uncluttered design that holds its presence whether placed indoors or set into a memorial outdoors. It suits both contemporary settings and traditional monuments in glass, stone or metal.

Grade 316 stainless steel

Not all stainless steel is equal. This urn is made from grade 316, which carries a higher chromium and nickel content than the more common grade 304. That difference means greater resistance to corrosion, moisture and salt air over time. The brushed surface finish catches the light at different angles, giving the urn a steady, considered presence. It will not tarnish, rust or require any upkeep.

Handcrafted in the Netherlands

Each urn is made by hand in the Netherlands using the best materials available for this type of work. Because of that process, the lead time is four to six weeks from order. In practice, most urns are ready and dispatched sooner, but the six-week window is given honestly to avoid disappointment. If you need a current estimate before ordering, the team can confirm turnaround times directly.

Filling and sealing the urn

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn is included. The process is straightforward, and the urn is suitable for use with or without an ash bag.

If you are using the supplied ash bag, place it into the urn leaving the top section outside as a funnel, then pour the ashes in. Secure the bag with the supplied cable tie and tuck it fully into the opening. If you prefer to place the ashes directly, a funnel is recommended to avoid spillage. Either way, the interior rim should be clean, dry and free from grease before the cap is applied. Peel the protective film from the cap, position it carefully against the rim and press it firmly into place in a single movement. When correctly sealed, the cap sits flush with the surface and the base is completely flat.

If you would prefer not to fill the urn yourself, the crematorium or funeral director can do this for you. Should the urn ever need to be reopened at a later stage, the makers' technicians can assist with that.

Ash bag or loose ashes

Grade 316 stainless steel is robust and the seal is fully airtight, rated to withstand high tensile force. That makes this urn for ashes well suited to carrying loose ashes without a bag. That said, if you think the ashes may need to be transferred or divided at some point in the future, placing them in the supplied ash bag first gives you that flexibility later.

Personalisation and laser engraving

Laser engraving is available on this urn. A computer-guided laser cuts directly into the stainless steel surface with a high degree of precision, producing imagery in greyscale or colour depending on the file you supply. The quality of the engraving reflects the quality of the source image: a high-resolution file produces a sharp, detailed result. When you place your order, you will be guided through the options and given the opportunity to upload your chosen image or text. A name, a date, a photograph, a personal symbol, something specific to the person this cremation urn is made for.

Practical considerations

Durability, weather and long-term care

Grade 316 stainless steel is suited to both indoor and outdoor use. It handles moisture, temperature change and exposure to the elements without degrading. No sealing, coating or periodic treatment is required. If you are placing the urn in a garden memorial or a niche exposed to rain or sea air, this grade of steel is the right choice. The sealed cap is airtight and will not be compromised by outdoor conditions.

Guarantee and returns

This urn carries a ten-year guarantee, which reflects the confidence the makers place in the materials and the process. If you order and find the urn is not right for any reason, there is a 30-day return window on all memorial items.
