Built in layers, cut with precision

The rose motifs on this urn are not applied to the surface. They are cut directly from layers of stainless steel, which is a more demanding process than it sounds. Each layer requires exact work and a precise understanding of the material. As the steel is cut, a directional grain forms across the surface. That grain catches and reflects light differently depending on the angle, giving the urn its characteristic lustre. The steel itself is grade 316, the higher-specification alloy that contains molybdenum and offers significantly better resistance to corrosion than the more common grade 304. Each urn is made by hand in the Netherlands by specialist craftspeople using only the finest materials.

Grade 316 stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium, nickel and molybdenum. It is robust, easy to maintain and fully resistant to moisture, which makes it well suited to indoor display over many years. The seal is airtight and engineered to hold under considerable tension. You can place ashes directly into the urn for ashes without a bag if you prefer, or use the included ash bag if you want to keep future options open.

Filling the urn

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn is included. If using the ash bag, leave part of it folded over the opening to act as a funnel, pour in the ashes, then seal the bag with the included cable tie and tuck it fully inside. If you are not using the bag, a separate funnel is recommended to avoid spillage. Before sealing, make sure the inner seating rim is completely free of dust, grease and moisture. Use the included cloth for this. Remove the protective film from the lid and press it firmly into the rim in one smooth movement. When correctly closed, the lid sits flush with the body of the urn. The crematorium or funeral director can carry out the filling if you would prefer, and if the urn ever needs to be reopened for any reason, our technicians can do that for you.

This cremation urn carries a 10-year guarantee. A 30-day return period applies to all memorial products, so you can order with confidence and take the time you need to decide.

Lead time

Because each urn is made by hand in the Netherlands, the lead time is four to six weeks. In practice, many orders are dispatched sooner, but we communicate six weeks to avoid disappointment.
