Choosing a resting place for someone's ashes is not a decision you want to revisit. The Breaker in grade 316 stainless steel is built to remain exactly as it is, whether placed on a shelf indoors or beside a memorial in the open air.

Design and material

The Breaker has a clean, precise silhouette that sits comfortably alongside modern memorials in stainless steel, glass and natural stone, and equally well in a more traditional setting. The brushed finish is not merely decorative: the direction of the grind causes light to catch the surface at shifting angles, giving the urn a quiet, changing lustre rather than a flat shine.

Grade 316 stainless steel is an alloy of iron, chromium, nickel and carbon. It offers meaningfully better corrosion resistance than the more common grade 304, which matters if the urn will be placed outdoors over a long period. The Breaker is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use and is built to remain unchanged through seasons and years.

Made by hand in the Netherlands

Each Breaker is made to order by specialist craftspeople in the Netherlands, working by hand with professional-grade materials. That process takes time, and it should. The lead time for this urn for ashes is four to six weeks, though in practice orders are often completed sooner. To avoid disappointment, six weeks is the figure we quote. Filling, sealing and peace of mind

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn is included with your order. The process is straightforward, and you are not expected to manage it alone.

How to fill the Breaker

The urn can be filled with or without an ash bag, depending on your preference. If you are using the ash bag, place it into the urn leaving part outside to act as a funnel, pour the ashes in, secure the bag with the included cable tie, then push it fully into the opening. If you prefer to fill without a bag, a separate funnel is recommended to avoid spillage.

Once filled, ensure the inner rim is completely free of dust, grease and moisture using the cloth provided. Remove the protective film from the lid and press it firmly into the rim in a single movement until the surface sits flush. The seal is airtight and rated to withstand high tensile force.

If you would prefer not to fill the urn yourself, your crematorium or funeral director can do this for you. Should the urn ever need to be reopened, our own technicians are able to help.

Practical considerations

Grade 316 stainless steel is robust and non-porous, which means ashes can be placed directly inside without an ash bag if you prefer. The airtight seal prevents moisture from entering, making this cremation urn equally reliable outdoors as in. That said, if there is any chance you may wish to move or scatter the ashes at a later date, using the ash bag makes that considerably simpler. The Breaker carries a ten-year guarantee, which reflects the confidence placed in the craftspeople who produce it. A 30-day return period applies if, for any reason, you change your mind after receiving it.

Personalisation

Laser engraving is available for the Breaker. A computer-guided laser etches the surface with precision, and the result can be rendered in greyscale or in colour depending on the image you supply. The quality of the engraving reflects the quality of the file: a high-resolution image produces a sharper, more detailed result. When you place your order, you will have the option to upload your chosen image and select your preferred finish.
