A bear that holds what words cannot
Some objects carry meaning in a way that feels entirely right. This stainless steel keepsake urn features a teddy bear set into an oval recess, a figure that speaks of protection, constancy and a bond that does not fade. It is not decoration. It is a considered choice for someone whose presence in your life felt exactly like that.
Grade 316 stainless steel: why the material matters
This mini urn for ashes is made from RVS 316 stainless steel, an alloy of iron, chromium, nickel and carbon that offers measurably greater resistance to corrosion than the more common grade 304. That difference is real. Grade 316 holds its integrity in moisture, outdoor air and fluctuating temperatures, which is why it is used in medical and marine environments as well as in high-quality memorial products. The brushed surface finish catches light at different angles, giving the urn a quiet, living sheen rather than a flat, uniform shine. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
Handcrafted in the Netherlands, with a lead time of four to six weeks
This keepsake urn is made by hand in the Netherlands by specialist craftspeople using the finest materials available. That level of care takes time, and the lead time reflects it: four to six weeks from order, though in most cases dispatch happens sooner. If you would like to know the current lead time before ordering, you are welcome to ask via chat or email.
Sealed securely, ready when the moment comes
When you are choosing something like this, you need to know that every practical detail has been thought through. The urn closes with a double-sided adhesive seal rated to withstand very high tensile force, creating an airtight closure. All accessories needed for filling are included with the urn.
Filling the urn: step by step
The process is straightforward and can be done at home, or you can leave it to the crematorium or funeral director. If you prefer to fill the urn yourself, here is how it works:
- Empty the supplied ash bag into the urn and leave a portion extending from the opening to act as a funnel, then pour the ashes in through it.
- Seal the ash bag with the supplied cable tie and tuck it fully into the opening. If you are not using the ash bag, a small funnel is recommended to avoid spillage.
- Ensure the inner seating edge is completely free of dust, grease and moisture. Use the cloth provided.
- Remove the protective film from the lid and press it carefully into the rim of the opening in a single, firm movement. A properly seated lid will sit flush with the surface.
- If the urn ever needs to be reopened, our technicians can do that for you.
Ash loose or in the bag: both are possible
Because grade 316 stainless steel is exceptionally robust and the seal is fully airtight, you can place the ashes loose directly inside the urn. If you think you may want to move the ashes to a different resting place at some point in the future, using the supplied ash bag gives you the most flexibility. The choice is yours, and neither option is more correct than the other.
Personalised to reflect the bond you shared
The bear itself is already a personal statement. If you would like to go further, laser engraving is available as an option and can be applied directly to the stainless steel surface. You can choose a portrait, a signature, a name, a date or any image that was closely tied to who your person was. The process uses a computer-guided laser that works with precision on the hard steel surface, reproducing detail in both greyscale and colour. The sharper the resolution of the image you supply, the finer the result. When ordering, you can upload your chosen image directly through the product menu and select the engraving option at that point.
How laser engraving works
A concentrated beam of light etches the stainless steel surface with a level of precision that photographic printing cannot match on metal. Because the laser is computer-controlled, it follows the image file exactly, which means a high-resolution photograph or a hand-drawn signature can both be reproduced faithfully. Colour and greyscale results are both achievable on this surface.
Practical reassurance for a considered choice
Grade 316 stainless steel does not rust, does not fade and does not require any special maintenance, indoors or outside. It is a material chosen specifically because it asks nothing of you over time.
Guarantee and return window
This keepsake urn carries a ten-year guarantee. You also have a 30-day return window on all memorial items, no pressure and no complications. If you order and then feel uncertain, there is time to reconsider.
Common questions
Can I try the urn before committing? Yes. The 30-day return window applies to all our memorial products.
Do I have to use the ash bag? No. The robustness of grade 316 steel and the airtight seal make it entirely safe to place ashes loose inside this urn. The ash bag is there if you want to keep the option of moving the ashes at a later date. Both approaches are valid.
If you are unsure whether this cremation urn is the right choice, or if you would like to talk through the engraving options, get in touch via chat or email and we will help you think it through at your own pace.
