A place to keep them close
Losing a child leaves you searching for something to hold onto. This three-dimensional teddy bear memorial sculpture offers exactly that: a tangible point of connection with the person you miss, something you can see and return to every day.
Metal and wood, made with care
The bear is cast from 2 mm steel and finished using powder coating, an electrostatic process in which negatively charged powder is applied to the steel surface and then cured in an oven. The result is a smooth, even layer that bonds firmly to the metal and protects the sculpture from daily wear. The base is wooden, hand-finished and tinted by hand. That kind of work takes patience, and you can see it in the finished piece.
What the bear means
The teddy bear has long held a particular place in how we think about comfort and accompaniment. Symbolically, bears represent courage and strength, and the bear has always been seen as a guide, something that goes with you as you find your way in the world. For a child who left too soon, this sculpture carries that meaning forward. The bear that stood beside them stands here for you now.
Two ways to keep them with you
This memorial sculpture gives you a genuine choice in how you remember. You are not limited to one form of connection.
The ash tube in the base
Set into the wooden base is a small plastic ash tube that you can fill yourself with a symbolic portion of cremation ash. It seals securely and sits out of sight within the base of the sculpture, present but private.
The glass ash pearl
The sculpture comes with a hollow glass ash pearl. You can fill it with a lock of hair, a small piece of fabric from a favourite item of clothing, or another personal keepsake. The pearl can be worn, or hung from the dedicated hook on the sculpture itself. The opening closes with a small screw cap. Using an ash jewellery filling kit is recommended for a careful, precise fill.
- Hollow glass pearl with screw cap closure
- Can hold cremation ash, hair or a personal memento
- Wearable as a pendant, or displayed on the sculpture
Practical things worth knowing
Wood is a natural material and may carry small knots or surface variations. With changes in temperature, fine cracks can occasionally appear in the wooden base. This is not a manufacturing fault; it is simply how wood behaves. To keep the sculpture in the best possible condition, place it indoors on a stable surface and away from direct heat sources such as radiators or sunny windowsills. The steel bear itself is well protected by the powder coating and will hold its finish with normal, careful use.
What's included
This cremation urn sculpture includes both the plastic ash tube fitted in the wooden base and the glass ash pearl. Both are ready to fill when you receive the piece. If you would like to add a name, a date or a short phrase, an engraving plate can be added as a personalisation option when you order.
Filling the glass pearl
If you would like the pearl to carry something that was truly theirs, a lock of hair or a scrap of fabric from a piece of clothing they loved works particularly well. It makes the bear not just a symbol but a keeper of who they were. If you have any questions about filling either the ash tube or the glass pearl, we are happy to talk you through it at your own pace.
