The heart that keeps connecting

Sometimes you want more than a photograph on a shelf. A place in your home where someone can truly be present, built with intention, with the things that speak to who they were and what you shared.

Two materials, one complete piece

This sculpture urn for ashes is constructed from 2 mm powder-coated steel and a hand-finished wooden plinth. The powder-coating process works by applying electrostatically charged powder to the steel, then fusing it in an oven to produce a smooth, even black finish that is solid to the touch. The wooden plinth is finished and coloured by hand. Together, the metal and wood create something that feels both sturdy and personal.

Multiple hooks, multiple memories

The hearts carry hooks from which you can hang a glass ash pearl, a wedding ring, an ash jewellery piece or another small keepsake. The wooden plinth below provides space for a photograph, a mini urn for ashes, a tealight or other personal items. Because the sculpture has several hooks, it can hold more than one person's memory at once.

What the heart holds

The heart is a universal symbol for love and connection. This cremation urn was designed around a single guiding thought: that someone stays with you in your heart, always. That is not a slogan applied to the surface. It is the principle behind the form itself. The hearts hold, quite literally, whatever you entrust to them, including the glass ash pearl. By choosing what you hang from the hooks and what you place on the plinth, you build a memorial that reflects the two of you, not a generic idea of loss.

Making it specific to them

Consider the watch he always wore, the ring she never took off, or a small card with a line that meant something only to you. Each object you add makes this piece more yours and more theirs. That is the point of it.

Practical considerations

The wooden plinth is a natural material, which means it can carry knots or slight surface variation. Small hairline cracks can appear over time as the wood responds to changes in temperature. This is a characteristic of the material, not a fault. Keep the sculpture in a stable, dry position indoors, away from radiators and draughts, and the finish will remain in good condition for years.

Placement and care

This sculpture urn is designed for indoor use only. Place it on a level surface away from direct heat sources or sudden changes in temperature. The steel and the wooden plinth are robust, but the wooden base benefits from a consistent environment. Avoid humid rooms such as bathrooms, and do not place it in direct sunlight for extended periods, as this can affect the wood's colour over time.

If you would like to create a place in your home that genuinely reflects the bond you shared, this piece offers a quiet but concrete way to do that. Take your time deciding what you add to it. If you would like help thinking through the options, we are happy to talk it through with you at your own pace.
