A presence in the room, not a statement
Not everyone wants an urn that draws the eye the moment someone walks in. If you are looking for a way to keep a person's memory close that feels natural rather than conspicuous, this ash sculpture offers a different kind of tribute.
Developed with artists, shaped around a real need
This piece came about after repeated requests from bereaved families who found a traditional urn on the mantelpiece too prominent, too hard to explain to every visitor. In response, we worked with a group of established artists to develop a series of ash sculptures, each designed to hold a symbolic portion of ashes within a hollow base, sealed with a screw cap that is included with the sculpture. The result is a figure that stands as a work of art in its own right, while holding something deeply personal at its core.
Tin alloy with a bronzed surface
The sculpture is cast from a tin alloy and finished through a bronzing process applied layer by layer to replicate the depth and richness of real bronze. This is skilled, time-consuming craft work, and the result reflects that: a surface with genuine visual weight that sits comfortably across a range of interiors without dominating them.
A figure on the shelf, a bond that holds
The connection you shared does not need to be on display for everyone who comes through the door. This sculpture carries that meaning for you, visible as an object of beauty, quiet as a place of remembrance.
What 'Carrier of light' means in practice
The name refers to the role a person can play in a life: a source of direction, of clarity, of steadiness. By holding a symbolic portion of ashes within the hollow base, the sculpture keeps that presence tangible and close. For visitors, it reads simply as a beautiful piece. For you, it holds something more. If you have a particular wish or would like to discuss a special request, we are happy to talk it through with you.
Practical matters, answered plainly
When a sculpture holds part of someone's ashes, questions about durability and security are entirely reasonable.
Designed for indoor use
This keepsake urn is intended for indoor use only. Tin alloys can lose their finish if exposed to prolonged moisture or outdoor air, dulling or discolouring over time. Kept on a dry surface away from direct sunlight, the bronzed finish will hold its appearance with everyday indoor use. The base seals securely with the screw cap, keeping the ashes safe and out of sight. As a cremation urn designed to hold a symbolic rather than full portion of ashes, it is well suited to sitting alongside other pieces in a room without drawing attention to its purpose.
