A presence that holds meaning quietly

Not everyone wants an urn that reads as an urn. If you are looking for something that keeps the memory of someone you loved close, but sits in a room as a piece of sculpture rather than a declared memorial, this angel figure was designed for exactly that need. After many requests from bereaved families who found a traditional urn on the mantelpiece too prominent, we worked with a group of established artists to develop a series of ash sculptures. Each piece holds a small amount of ashes within a hollow base, sealed with a screw cap that is included with the sculpture.

Crafted in silvertin

This keepsake urn is cast in silvertin, an alloy recognised for its fine detail and soft, matte sheen. The material allows the angel figure to be cast with a sharpness and expressiveness that is harder to achieve in other alloys. Silvertin is robust, largely unaffected by the temperature variations of a normal indoor environment, and holds its appearance over years without any special treatment. The piece you place on a shelf today will look the same a decade from now.

Only you need to know what it holds

Because the sculpture reads as a beautiful object rather than a memorial, visitors to your home see exactly that: a beautiful object. The connection to your loved one belongs to you. That quiet knowledge can offer something a conventional urn for ashes does not: the memory of the bond you shared is present in the room, but it does not define the room. Many people who choose this piece describe that as a relief.

The symbolism of the angel

An angel is not a generic symbol for everyone who chooses it. For many people, it represents something specific about the person they have lost: a quality of gentleness, a sense of protection, or a role that person played in their life. If the person you are remembering was someone who steadied others, who was always there, this sculpture gives that quality a visible and lasting form. No inscription needed, no explanation required for anyone else.

Practical things worth knowing

Silvertin is considerably more resilient than ceramic or glass and will not shatter if knocked. It does not require polishing or sealing. That said, it is best placed on a stable, dry surface indoors and kept away from damp or humid conditions, which over time can affect any metal alloy. The screw cap closes the hollow base securely, keeping the ashes safely contained and completely out of sight. This cremation urn is designed for indoor use only.

Making it your own

If you have a particular idea in mind, whether that is a specific placement, a combination with another piece, or something that would make the sculpture feel more personal to your situation, we are happy to think it through with you. Get in touch and we will talk through the options at your own pace.
