A sculpture that holds what words cannot
Not everyone wants an urn that announces itself as one. If you are looking for something that can sit naturally in your home, present every day without drawing attention to itself, this keepsake urn may be exactly that: a beautiful sculpture, and for you, something far more.
Developed with artists, shaped by need
This piece came about because people kept asking for the same thing: a way to keep a small amount of their loved one's ashes close, without placing something on the mantelpiece that every visitor would immediately recognise. Working with a group of established artists, we developed a series of ash sculptures, each with a hollow base that holds a symbolic portion of ashes, sealed with a screw cap that is supplied with the piece. The result is an urn for ashes that reads, to anyone else in the room, simply as a considered piece of art.
The butterfly as a personal symbol
The butterfly was not chosen at random. It begins enclosed and still, and becomes something that moves freely and catches light. If you think about the bond you shared, and about how suddenly that changed, that movement from heavy to light may speak to something you have felt but not yet found words for. The symbolism is not imposed on you. You bring your own meaning to it, and that is the point.
Tin alloy, finished in bronze
The sculpture is cast in tin alloy and finished with a dark bronzed surface. Tin alloy allows fine detail to be captured precisely during casting, something coarser metals do not permit. The bronzed layer adds depth and character to the surface. Look closely at the wings and you will see that the texture is not painted on: it is held within the material itself. This is the kind of craftsmanship that reveals itself gradually, rather than all at once.
Practical to live with
The base holds a symbolic quantity of ashes and is sealed with a screw cap included with the sculpture. For others in your home, it is simply a beautiful object. For you, it is something else entirely. If you have a particular request or a specific wish about how it is prepared, we are happy to discuss that with you directly.
Care and indoor use
Tin alloy is a stable material suited to permanent indoor display. It does not require specialist maintenance, but keep it away from prolonged moisture or rooms with significant temperature fluctuation, such as a bathroom. Stored in a dry indoor setting, the bronzed finish will remain intact over time. When dusting, use a soft dry cloth to preserve the surface.
Giving a place to what you do not want to forget
You are not choosing a decorative object. You are choosing something that will be present in your daily life, quietly, on your own terms. This cremation urn offers exactly that kind of presence. Take your time looking through the options, and if you would like to talk through a specific wish or ask a question, we are here to help at whatever pace suits you.
