The block is cut from marlin, a dense, dark natural stone with a finely polished surface that is exceptionally well suited to detailed image engraving. The laser burns the image directly into the stone, which means the engraving will not fade, will not lift, and holds firm against rain, frost and direct sun. The level of detail this produces on marlin is difficult to achieve with any other technique on this material. Getting there takes careful preparation, in the choice of image and in the execution of the engraving itself.

Where you can place it

The block sits on built-in feet, so it stands stably upright on a flat surface. You can place it on a grave or monument, in the home, in the garden, or as a roadside memorial at a place that holds meaning. The stone is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Personalisation: photo and text

Both a photo and a text inscription can be engraved onto the block. You might choose a name and date of birth, a short phrase that says something true about who this person was, or a combination of both. For a sharp result, please supply your image at a minimum resolution of 300 DPI. After you place your order, you will receive a proof for approval before any engraving is carried out, so you can check every detail carefully.

Durability and care

Marlin is a hard, dense stone that absorbs very little moisture and stands up well to the elements. The polished surface keeps the engraving crisp and gives the stone a degree of natural protection outdoors. No special treatment is needed for exterior placement. To clean, wipe with water and a soft cloth.
