Many burial grounds have rules covering the size, material and shape of memorials, and some require installation to be carried out by approved local stonemasons only. Any concrete base slab and pile foundation beneath the stone will need to be installed by the cemetery itself. It is always better to confirm these details in advance than to discover a restriction after the stone has been made.
