A stone that will still be standing

Choosing a memorial stone is one of the harder decisions that follows a loss. You want something that reflects the person, suits the place where they rest, and feels right to you. Granite gives you that certainty. It is one of the densest natural stones in existence, formed deep in the earth's crust under immense pressure and heat. That process gives it a crystalline structure, a characteristic hardness, and a surface pattern that belongs to that piece alone. What you choose here will last.

Granite: material with genuine character

No two granite slabs are identical. Each carries its own colour gradation and patterning, shaped by geological forces rather than by manufacture. The available colours range from understated to striking, so you can choose what fits the tone you have in mind. Surface finishing and engraving are applied with care for both clarity and longevity, so the lettering remains legible for years rather than seasons.

What the stone can hold

A memorial stone is not simply an object. It is the place you return to, where you stop and stand, where the bond you shared takes on a fixed, tangible form. The designs available to choose from are not decorative additions. Each one is a considered choice that says something about who this person was. A symbol can express what words sometimes cannot. Take the time to find the right one.

Personalisation: more than a name

You choose the design, the wording and the layout of the stone yourself. Once you have placed your order, you will receive a proof for approval before anything is finalised, so you can check every detail at your own pace.

Practical things to confirm before you order

Granite is exceptionally resistant to frost, moisture and general weathering. Even so, there are practical steps worth taking before you order, because the requirements of individual cemeteries vary more than most people expect.

Cemetery rules and installation: check these first

Before placing your order, it is worth speaking with your cemetery manager or local authority to confirm what is and is not permitted at your particular cemetery. Many cemeteries specify permitted dimensions, materials and forms for memorial stones, and some restrict installation to approved local stonemasons only. Any concrete base slab or pile foundation required beneath the stone must be installed by the cemetery itself, not supplied with the memorial. These are straightforward things to clarify in advance, and doing so will save time once your stone is ready. If you have any questions before or after ordering, please do get in touch by phone or via the contact form and we will talk things through with you.
