Handmade biodegradable water urn made from mulberry paper with banana fibres

A natural farewell at sea or on the water

This handmade biodegradable water urn is designed for a farewell at sea or on another suitable body of water. After being placed in the water, the urn remains visible briefly before absorbing water, sinking and gradually breaking down through natural processes.

Handmade mulberry paper with banana fibres

The paper is made from fibres obtained from the bark of the mulberry tree. The tree does not need to be felled: the bark regenerates after harvesting. The fibres are made into paper pulp, formed by hand and dried in the sun.

Natural fibres from the banana plant are incorporated into the paper itself, creating a visible organic texture. The distribution of the fibres, colour and finish vary slightly from one urn to another.

• 100% biodegradable - designed to break down naturally after water burial.
• Renewable raw material - made from mulberry bark that regenerates after harvesting.
• Banana fibres - incorporated into the paper itself.
• Handmade - subtle variations make every urn unique.
• Sun-dried - part of the traditional production process.
• SMETA 4-Pillar audited production - the production site is assessed in areas including labour standards, environment and business ethics.

How does a water urn work?

Once placed in the water, the urn remains visible for a short period. The mulberry paper then absorbs water and the urn gradually sinks. The natural paper fibres continue to break down over the following days.

Banana fibres as part of the farewell

Banana fibres give this urn its distinctive appearance and can be associated with nature, connection and the cycle of life. The natural material keeps the symbolism subtle and closely connected to the idea of returning to nature.

If you wish, a personal letter or a few dried flowers can be included at the farewell. Choose this water urn when a natural, handmade farewell at sea or on the water feels right for the person you wish to remember.
