Grade 316 contains an elevated proportion of molybdenum, which gives it resistance to salt air and sustained moisture exposure that standard steel cannot match. The brushed finish is not simply decorative. The directional grain catches light at different angles and produces a lustre that does not fade or dull over time. Stainless steel of this grade needs no coating, no lacquer and no seasonal treatment. It simply does its job.

Placing a candle directly on a natural stone memorial may seem harmless, but candle wax absorbs into the surface and removing it properly requires professional repolishing of the entire face. This lantern prevents that. The flame burns inside, the memorial stays intact.

The base of the lantern has a recess that allows it to be secured via a plug fitting, either to a plinth or directly to the memorial. This keeps the lantern stable in wind and prevents it shifting or tipping between visits.
