An angel that stands with you, wherever you choose to remember

A bronze angel figure is not an ornament. It is a considered choice that says: this person deserves a place that endures. Whether that place is a windowsill, a garden, or a grave, this sculpture holds its ground.

Cast using the lost-wax method

This angel is made using the traditional lost-wax casting process, known as cire perdue. Each piece begins as a hand-formed wax model, encased in a ceramic shell, before molten bronze is poured at high temperature. Once cast, every sculpture is hand-finished and patinated individually. The result is a three-dimensional, freestanding figure with a depth and surface texture that press-moulded plastic or composite simply cannot replicate. A dowel on the base allows for stable placement on a grave monument or plinth.

The angel as a considered symbol

The angel has long represented protection and guidance, but what that means depends entirely on who you are remembering. If it was someone who spent their life looking after others, the sheltering figure carries its own quiet weight. If it was someone who left too soon, the upward form of the angel gives shape to something that words fall short of. The symbolism holds because you bring meaning to it, drawn from the bond you shared. That is what makes it personal rather than generic.

Bronze outdoors: what to expect over time

Bronze is one of the most resilient materials available for outdoor use. It does not rust, and it retains its structural integrity through rain, frost and direct sunlight. What does change is the colour. Over time, bronze develops a natural patina, a greenish-brown layer that forms through oxidation. This is not deterioration. It is a characteristic of genuine bronze, and it gives the sculpture a depth that deepens with age. If you prefer to preserve the original bronze tone for longer, periodic treatment with a clear beeswax or bronze sealant will help maintain it.

Placement and practical considerations

The sculpture is freestanding, with a dowel on the base designed for fixed placement in a plinth or grave monument. For permanent outdoor placement at a cemetery, it is worth checking with the burial ground in advance, as permitted dimensions and fixing methods vary by site. For indoor placement, no such restrictions apply, and the sculpture suits a shelf, a memorial corner, or a garden room equally well.

Finding the right place

Bronze asks very little of you in terms of upkeep. What it does ask for is a place that feels right. That is yours to decide: a quiet windowsill, alongside a memorial stone in the garden, or as part of a grave monument. Each of those settings can be the right one, depending on what you want to give the person you are remembering. If you are unsure about size or placement, we are happy to help you think it through at your own pace.
