This freestanding angel is cast in bronze using the traditional lost-wax method, known in French as cire perdue. Each piece begins as an individual wax model, which is encased in a ceramic shell, burned away, and replaced by molten bronze. Once cast, the figure is hand-finished and patinated by a craftsperson. That process cannot be rushed and cannot be faked, and the result shows in every line: the soft curve of the seated posture, the depth of the surface texture, the way light settles into the bronze. No two pieces are identical.
