A tree of life to carry with you
The tree of life is one of the oldest symbols we have. Roots that hold. Branches that reach. Life that continues. This ashes pendant lets you carry that meaning with you every day, held close in a small compartment filled with a little ash, a lock of hair, or a pinch of earth from the grave.
Gold-plated stainless steel: the look of gold, the strength of steel
This pendant is made from 316-grade stainless steel, a material chosen specifically for its durability and resistance to corrosion. A fine layer of gold plating gives it the appearance of gold at a more accessible price. That is not a compromise. It is a considered choice: the beauty of gold paired with a genuinely robust base material.
What the symbol means
The tree of life is not a symbol of loss. It is a symbol of connection. Of everything that grew between you and the person you are missing, however long or short that time was. The symbol carries the most meaning when you choose it for what it represents to you personally, not simply for how it looks.
Adding a personal touch
If you would like to personalise this ashes pendant, engraving may be available depending on the model, allowing you to add a date or an initial. It is worth getting in touch to discuss what is possible.
Caring for gold-plated jewellery
Gold-plated pieces need a little more care than solid gold because the fine gold layer can wear over time. Skin with a naturally lower pH can also accelerate oxidation, causing the plating to discolour more quickly. To keep your pendant looking its best for as long as possible:
- Remove it before exercising, swimming or showering
- Apply creams, perfume and hairspray before putting the pendant on, never after
- Store it in a small airtight pouch when not wearing it
- Polish it occasionally with a dry, soft cloth
If the pendant does begin to discolour, a gentle buff with a dry cloth will often restore the surface. This is usually caused by a fine layer of residue from moisture or environmental exposure rather than permanent damage to the plating itself.
Filling and sealing
The pendant has a small internal compartment for holding a portion of ashes, a lock of hair, or a little soil from the grave. Detailed guidance on how to fill and seal the pendant is included with your order. If you would prefer not to fill it yourself, your funeral director or crematorium may be able to help, though this is usually subject to a separate charge. Please note that this cremation urn pendant is supplied without a chain.
If you are not sure whether this ashes pendant is the right choice, we are happy to help you think it through at whatever pace suits you.
