What MDF is, and why it suits this urn

MDF stands for Medium-Density Fibreboard. In production, very finely milled wood fibres are blended with a synthetic resin adhesive and pressed under precisely controlled heat and pressure into a dense, stable board. That process demands close management at every stage. The result is a material that is even and consistent throughout, without the natural irregularities you find in solid wood. For an urn where the form is the point, that consistency matters. What you see on the surface is a deliberate choice, not chance.

Moisture sensitivity and placement

MDF is sensitive to moisture. Prolonged exposure to damp conditions can cause the material to swell or affect the finish. Placed on a dry surface indoors, this urn will hold its shape and appearance for the long term. It is not intended for outdoor use.

Ash bag required

This urn is suitable for use with an ash bag only. Placing ashes directly inside the urn without an ash bag is not recommended and should be avoided.

A place that belongs to them
