A shape that has carried meaning for thousands of years

The pyramid is one of the oldest symbols of life beyond death. The ancient Egyptians chose this precise geometry for their kings, believing it guided the soul through its transition. If you are looking for a keepsake urn that holds that depth of meaning without drama or excess, the bronze 'Pyramid' is a choice that endures, in every sense.

Bronze: character, craft and longevity

Each 'Pyramid' mini urn for ashes is handmade in the Netherlands by specialists who shape bronze sheet by welding and bending. That process makes every piece individual. Bronze itself does not degrade and requires no maintenance, but what gives each urn its particular character is the patina layer, applied by hand after shaping. Because the patina responds differently to each surface, no two urns are identical. You choose between green or brown patina, each with its own appearance and its own modest care requirements.

Green or brown patina: what each one needs

The green patina is low-maintenance. Wipe it down with a soft cloth, water and mild soap, and it will look after itself. Avoid scrubbing, as the layer is delicate. Over time, the colour settles and evens out naturally. The brown patina carries a light wax finish that slows oxidation. Indoors, keeping it dust-free is enough. For outdoor placement, the wax layer needs refreshing at least every two years, depending on weather and location. Apply beeswax with a cloth, allow it to absorb, then buff gently.

Made in the Netherlands, delivered when the time is right

This cremation urn is handmade by our specialists using the finest materials, and that care takes time. The lead time is four to six weeks. In practice, despatch is often possible sooner, but we communicate six weeks to avoid any disappointment. If you need to know the current lead time before ordering, please ask via our chat or contact our customer service team by email.

Filling and sealing the urn

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn is included. The 'Pyramid' is sealed using a high-adhesion double-sided tape capable of withstanding significant tension, so once closed, it holds securely. The process itself is straightforward: place the included ash bag inside the urn and use the protruding section as a funnel, then secure the bag with the included cable tie and tuck it fully into the opening. If you prefer not to use the ash bag, a funnel is recommended to avoid spillage. Before sealing, make sure the inner rim is clean and free of dust, grease and moisture using the cloth provided. Press the lid evenly into the rim in a single movement until it sits flush. If you would rather leave the filling to the crematorium or funeral director, that is entirely straightforward to arrange. Should the urn ever need to be reopened, our technicians are able to do that for you.

Practical considerations for indoor and outdoor use

The 'Pyramid' is suitable for both indoor and outdoor placement. Indoors, either patina finish is easy to maintain. If you are placing the urn outdoors, the brown patina requires the most attention: the wax layer should be reapplied every two years or so to protect the surface from the elements. The green patina weathers more naturally but should never be scrubbed. Both finishes are robust when cared for correctly, and bronze as a material will not corrode or degrade over time.
