Biodegradable urn for water or ground burial with banana fibres

A natural farewell through water or ground burial

This handmade biodegradable urn made from mulberry paper is suitable for either water or ground burial. It is supplied as standard with an ivory-coloured silk bag for the ashes, presented inside a cotton storage bag, so the ashes remain carefully contained until the time of the farewell.

Handmade mulberry paper with natural banana fibres

The paper is made from fibres obtained from the bark of the mulberry tree. The tree does not need to be felled: the bark regenerates after harvesting. The fibres are made into paper pulp, formed by hand and dried in the sun.

The natural banana fibres form part of the material itself. Small variations in colour, texture and finish are therefore natural and give every urn its own appearance.

• 100% biodegradable - designed to break down through natural processes.
• For water or ground burial - suitable for water or ground burial.
• Renewable raw material - made from mulberry bark that regenerates after harvesting.
• Banana fibres - incorporated into the paper itself.
• Handmade - subtle variations make every urn unique.
• SMETA 4-Pillar audited production - the production site is assessed in areas including labour standards, environment and business ethics.

What happens when the urn is placed in water?

Once placed in the water, the urn sinks almost immediately. On the bed of the water, the mulberry paper continues to absorb moisture and the natural paper fibres gradually break down.

Suitable for ground burial

The urn can also be buried in the ground. The biodegradable mulberry paper is gradually broken down by natural processes. Depending on soil conditions and moisture levels, this can take from several months to around a year.

Banana fibres as part of the remembrance

Banana fibres can be associated with nature, connection and the cycle of life. Their natural presence in the paper gives the urn a personal, understated character that suits a farewell centred on nature and remembrance.

Choose this urn when a natural farewell in water or in the ground, combined with handmade paper and visible natural detail, feels appropriate for your loved one and the way you wish to say goodbye.
