A last gift to the earth your loved one cherished

If you are looking for a way to say goodbye that genuinely reflects who your loved one was, a standard solution rarely feels right. This biodegradable cremation urn returns the ashes to the earth in a way that does not simply end at burial.

Handmade from natural materials

Each urn is made by hand from plant-based fibres, fine golden sand and plant extracts. These are not incidental choices. Every material has been selected because it breaks down fully in the soil, leaving nothing behind. The production process requires care and precision: the urn must be robust enough to handle, yet composed in a way that allows the earth to do its work over time. Depending on soil composition and moisture levels, the urn and ashes are typically absorbed into the ground within three to six months.

More than a resting place

What sets this urn for ashes apart is what can grow from it afterwards. The lid can be replaced with a sapling of your choosing at the moment of burial. Not as an abstract gesture, but as something concrete: a tree that grows year on year in that exact spot, that turns colour in autumn and comes into leaf each spring. If your loved one had a love of nature, of trees, of being outside, this is not a stretch of meaning. It is a straightforward continuation of what mattered to them. If a tree does not feel right, the urn also supports wildflowers or other planting, depending on what suits the person you are remembering.

Choosing a plant that means something

The plant you choose can carry real personal meaning. An apple tree for someone who spent their weekends in the vegetable garden. A white blossom tree for someone whose spring you always shared together. That choice does not need to feel symbolic to be significant. It simply needs to feel right for the bond you shared.

Practical information for outdoor burial

This cremation urn is designed exclusively for outdoor burial. Before burial, store it somewhere dry and at room temperature. Moisture accelerates the breakdown process even above ground, and the urn is not suited to prolonged exposure to rain or damp conditions prior to use. Once it is in the ground, that process is exactly what it is designed for.

What to check when your urn arrives

When the urn arrives, check it carefully for any damage that may have occurred in transit. Keep it dry and at room temperature until you are ready to use it. The lid is replaced with a sapling at the point of burial, so there is no need to do anything with it beforehand. If you have questions about which plant or tree to choose, or about anything else, we are happy to help you think it through at your own pace.
