The colour of this urn comes from patina, an oxide layer applied by hand directly to the bronze surface. Because the process is entirely manual, the result varies subtly from piece to piece. No two urns are exactly alike. The urn is available in green and brown patina.

• Green patina: clean with a soft cloth, water and mild soap only. The layer is delicate and should never be scrubbed hard. Over time, the green tone evens out and deepens naturally.
• Brown patina: finished with a light wax coating that halts further oxidation. Indoors, simply keep it dust-free. Outdoors, the wax layer should be renewed at least every two years using beeswax: apply with a cloth, allow it to absorb, then buff to finish.

Filling the urn

Everything you need to fill and seal the urn is included. The bronze urn closes with a double-sided sealing tape rated for very high tensile load, creating a secure, flat-bottomed finish once the cap is pressed into place. The steps are straightforward: place the ash bag into the urn leaving a section outside to act as a funnel, fill, secure the bag with the included cable tie and press it fully into the opening, then clean the inner rim carefully with the included cloth before pressing the lid firmly home. If you prefer not to use the ash bag, a funnel is recommended to avoid spillage. You are also welcome to leave the filling to your crematorium or funeral director entirely, and if the urn ever needs to be reopened, our technicians can assist.

Practical care and durability

Bronze is a material with a proven record outdoors as well as in. The base metal itself needs no maintenance and will last for generations. The patina does require some specific attention depending on colour and placement, particularly for outdoor use where the wax layer on brown patina needs periodic renewal.
